New camera firmware update now available for download

  • SIGMA DP2 Merrill Firmware Ver.1.05

This firmware update should be applied to any DP2 Merrill camera that has firmware “Ver.1.04” or lower.
* If your camera already has firmware“Ver.1.05”, you do not need this update.

Benefits of this firmware update

Ver. 1.05

  • Improves the stability of operation.
  • Improves the precision of bounce flash shooting when ELECTRONIC FLASH EF-610 DG SUPER SA-STTL and ELECTRONIC FLASH EF-610 DG ST SA-STTL are used.
  • When you enlarge an image, it used to enlarge the center of the image. However, the new firmware magnifies the image depending on the focusing position.
  • It is possible to select the file name of the image either from “SDIM” or “DP2M”.
  • It has integrated the color tones of Custom White Balance (Sunlight, Shade, Overcast, Incandescent, Fluorescent, Flash) among the DP Merrill series.
  • Corrects the phenomenon that the AEL setting goes back to default if the AEL button is set for "Central AEL + AEL", and alternate MF to AF or vice versa, while it is still displaying the operation icon.
  • Corrects the phenomenon that self-timer shooting whilst using P Mode would cancel the program shift for the customized shutter speed and aperture settings if you press the release button.
  • Properly displays the image according to the selected magnification percentage.
  • Corrects the phenomenon that the selected exposure is not appropriately applied when an external flashgun is used with Custom Mode.
  • Corrects the phenomenon that, in rare cases, images are not recorded properly when the battery level is low.
  • Corrects the rare phenomenon that the recording process does not go perfectly when the camera is turned off right after taking the image.
  • It displays the size of the file when you select an image and open the Image Info Screen.

Caution:

  • Once you update the firmware of DP2 Merrill to Ver. 1.04, it is necessary to install Sigma Photo Pro 5.5 to develop the RAW images. The previous versions (Sigma Photo Pro 5.4.1 or earlier) cannot process it properly.
  • This firmware update requires two files, DP2M_105.bin and DP2MV105.bin. Firstly, please download and save those files on a SD/SDHC/SDXC card.
  • For firmware Ver. 1.03 or earlier, there are 2 steps to complete the firmware update. Once you finish the first step (STEP01 – STEP9), please proceed to the second step (STEP10 – STEP12).

Ver. 1.04

  • Adds the Face Detection Mode
  • It is possible to create B/W images in RAW or RAW+JPEG mode.
  • It corrects the phenomenon that transferring an image using a USB cable fails occasionally.
  • It is possible that non-SIGMA external flashguns can synchronize at a shutter speed of 1/125 second or slower.
  • It corrects the phenomenon that JPEG images are not properly displayed in the Adobe RGB color space.

Ver. 1.03

  • Corrects the phenomenon that the selected white balance, other than “Auto” (AWB), does not reflect on the quick preview and live view display.

Ver. 1.02

  • Enables the settings prior to update to be remembered even after firmware update is complete.
  • Adds “FOV Classic Blue” to Color mode.
  • Improves Auto White Balance (AWB).
  • Enables the display of the focus frame even when the icons on LCD Monitor are set to hidden.
  • Enables activation of AF + MF mode by pressing AE Lock button even when it is set to Center AF Lock.
  • Improves visibility of grid line.
  • Adds “Flash Exposure Compensation” to items which can be selected in the Quick Set menu.
  • Corrects the phenomenon that ISO Auto is disabled automatically, when setting ISO sensitivity to ISO Auto and taking images, then turning off the camera while it is writing the image data.
